Why chew the aspirin?

Studies, such as the one shown in the graph, have been conducted on how taking a 325 milligram aspirin works fastest between: swallowing a tablet with 4 ounces of water, chewing the tablet for 30 seconds before swallowing it, or drinking 4 ounces of water with Alka-Seltzer.

Scientific monitoring showed that chewed aspirin worked fastest and produced the quickest results.
