Tap the person's shoulder or shout 'Are you okay?' CPR should only be performed if the victim is unconscious OR not breathing.

 

If the victim suffering a suspected heart attack goes unconscious:

Assume cardiac arrest.


Tap the person's shoulder or shout 'Are you okay?' CPR should only be performed if the victim is unconscious OR not breathing.


Put on any personal protective items (such as gloves) before touching the victim.

Lay the victim on their back on a solid surface.

Begin CPR chest compressions and turn on the AED and follow the AED audible and visual prompts.
