Hepatitis B Vaccinations

67%
If you are at risk for occupational exposure your workplace must make available hepatitis B vaccinations within 10 days of initial job assignment or after the worker has received BBP training.

An Important Tip: Contact your employer to review the list of occupations at your workplace that are likely to incur occupational exposure to blood or other body fluids. This information is within the Exposure Control Plan at your workplace.

The Hepatitis B series consists of 3 shots over a 6-month period.

The shots are given in the upper arm, and have a very low incidence of side effects. In most cases, a person will become immune to Hepatitis B after 3 shots.

SPECIAL NOTE: Your insurance company may pay for these shots. Hepatitis B shots are now required for all school-age children.
