CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

67%

The technique involves chest compressions and breaths to manually administer the functions normally performed by the heart and lungs.

Victims that require CPR are dead and unresponsive - they will not be breathing or they will have very slow, labored and irregular breathing that is not normal (agonal breathing).

TIP:When CPR is being administered on a victim, they are already 'dead' - the rescuer can do no harm by compressing on their chest and administering breaths.
