An exposure control plan is a written plan to identify those at risk.
The plan documents ways to eliminate or minimize exposure to BBP hazards.
The plan will contain a list of jobs where workers have occupational exposure to BBP hazards.
The plan also has a list of tasks and procedures performed by those workers that result in the hazard exposure.
| SPECIAL NOTE: Employers must document in their files that at least annually workers are allowed to provide input on workplace BBP procedures and controls. | | |
| An Important Tip: The exposure control plan must be readily available for employee reference.
It is also to be reviewed and updated annually.
Consideration for updates includes personal protective equipment (PPE) or commercially-available effective and safer medical devices that can eliminate or minimize BBP exposure. | | |
