Universal Precautions

83%
Universal precautions are methods used to control exposure and prevent BBP disease transmission.

All blood and body fluids should be treated as if they are potentially infectious. You can not tell if a person is infected with a bloodborne disease by their appearance.

Always be sure to avoid direct contact with blood or body fluids.

SPECIAL NOTE: If you are involved in any situation involving blood or other potentially infected objects or fluids, make sure to follow all precautions to avoid skin or mucous membrane exposure.
