To minimize the chances of accidental exposure: | •
| always wear gloves when giving first aid or emptying waste receptacles | •
| have victims put initial pressure on and clean their own blood or open wounds when possible | •
| wear masks and appropriate protective equipment if splattering of blood or fluids is anticipated clean-up body fluids, blood and other affected waste using correct handling and disposal procedures and while wearing gloves | • | remove gloves correctly per your training | •
| wash hands promptly upon removal of gloves or other protective equipment. | | |
